Hi lovely lady, welcome back to Ada Style Minute.

In today’s video, I want to talk about what I think will be the Top 2021 Spring Fashion Trends.  I put together a list of what I think will be also very easily accessible and easy to incorporate and what can also have a lasting impact on your style.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I love the idea of a capsule collection, which is basically pieces that can mix and match to create easy and quick outfits.  But as much as I love classics, I think bringing in a fresh pop of trend in a new color, in a silhouette, in an accessory can help make you feel refreshed, modern, updated, and it’s a great way to personalize your outfit.

I’ve gathered trends that I think can work for most ladies… So, let’s get started!

The first trend that I want to talk about it’s almost an anti-trend…I’m part of a trend forecasting community for designers. We get tips on what will be trending for years in advance to help us plan stronger collections. So again, what you see here in ADA Collection is very much on-trend… And one thing that’s been brought up for years now and what I’m personally happy about is that there’s lots and lots of talk when it comes to quality over quantity.

There seems to be a cultural shift and many of us are filling our homes, closets, and our lives with beautiful pieces that bring us joy and pieces that we really love.  It’s more of an intentional and careful approach and what will make you feel happy, joyful, and beautiful instead of just buying stuff just for that one event and then tossing it or overstuff your closet with.

So, I feel that there’s been a shift and there’s a lot to talk about this.

And I love this because I think style is a tool and it should support you in the direction that you’re going, and if you have pieces that truly support you for years, it’s worth it. You don’t want pieces to bring you down. Style, again, shouldn’t be stressful and it doesn’t have to be hard.  Sometimes I think overstuffing our closets is what makes it hard and causes decision fatigue. So, again, this shift of quality over quantity is something I very personally value and I’m glad it’s being talked about.

The second trend that is very much trending especially due to the pandemic is “comfort”.  I don’t only mean comfortable sweats, beautiful oversized sweaters, and slipper shoes… Although that too will continue… But comfort in the design of itself.  Pieces that include colors, and the softness of design that bring comfort to the eye by you just looking at it, such as this squish soft handbag, very soft leather belts, patterns in leather, and even earrings and jewelry that just look comfortable.

Maybe bring you nice childhood memories or beautiful soft-looking pieces that give you an uplifted comfy feeling.

The next trend that I think is a spin-off of comfort is the exaggerated big puff shoulder, over-the-top sleeves, huge oversized collars, and bows.  It’s almost a rebellion against casual wear but still in line with comfort and softness. Again, such as this top I’m wearing.

How about color?

Well, because sustainability and quality over quantity have been at the top of many fashion designer’s conversations, it has also been dictating color palettes for designers. Dark saturated colors such as black or super dark navy and neons use a lot of dyes and chemicals which can be harmful to the environment… So designers are now becoming more conscious and using more sustainable materials, such as we do at ADA Collection with our vegetable dyes, but also softer colors require less dyes and are more sustainable.

So we’re seeing color palettes with softer hues such as this buttery yellow, soft greens, and pinks (from ballerina pink that I’m wearing to bubble gum pink), light greys, and blues.

I’m also loving this tangerine orange that I’ve seen trendy. Now, maybe this is a little more saturated, but it’s hard to be in a bad mood with beautiful citrus colors.  So, I think this is going to do very well as well. I love all of these colors, they’re beautiful, they’re comforting, dream-like, so we’re going to see a lot more of this kind of washed-out color palette.

I’m a huge fan but I understand it might be hard to incorporate into your wardrobe so I do have more videos on that coming up on that because I understand some of you might be saying “well, if it’s a washed-out color it would make me look washed-out”. So, I totally get it. I have more videos coming up on that.

Now, let’s talk about jeans and pants.

Bottoms have gotten bigger and more comfy as well. So, a straight-leg or a wider-leg jean in a lighter wash is also trending…

Trouser jeans are more comfortable, you can wear jeans now more often. And if you’re not going into the office, then this dark wash is very sophisticated. I have a pair of these and I think it’s so nice. So, lots of kind of like wider leg pants.

Now, it’s good to know about these trends but also it’s important to be able to incorporate them into your own style and also for your own body shape.

So I have a free Style Class where I talk about choosing the best pair of jeans for your body type. So again, the perfect width, the perfect dries, what shirt silouetthes, what fabrics to choose for your body type. Is a free Style Class and I’ll leave the link down below. You can sign up and join me for that!

And there you have it: top 2021 trends that I think you can have fun with. These are things that I’m very excited about, that are easy to incorporate into your personal style and can become a part of that expression for many years.

Try one or two, especially in accessories that it’s such an easy way. You can check out ADA Collection, we have beautiful belts and lots of gorgeous colors. Again, if you’re worried about the color palette being too washed-out, if you’re wearing a belt down below, you don’t have to worry about it being too close to your face. So check out some of those accessories there.

I hope you liked this video and it gave you some inspiration and things to be excited about and I would love to know your favorite trends down below, or maybe something that you’re excited about and I haven’t mentioned. I’d love to hear about it as well.

As always thank you so much for watching and if you haven’t already, please subscribe and you’ll be notified every time I come out with a video, which is usually weekly on Saturdays. So, thank you again for watching and I’ll see you next time on Ada Style Minute!
